Seen here? - Peas in our table garden!
Peas are protein-rich plants that are eaten as vegetables and also serve as animal feed.
The geographical origin of peas is in Asia Minor.
In terms of taste, peas can be described as ranging from sweet to floury; the riper they are, the more floury the taste develops.
Peas are ideal for soups, pasta recipes, as a side dish to fish, or as a filling, for example for ravioli or samosas.
๐ช๐ฒ ๐ด๐ฒ๐๐๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ฟ๐ฏ๐๐ฒ๐ป?: In addition to magnesium, calcium and zinc, peas contain saponins. Due to this, they ensure that our cholesterol levels are lowered and the immune system is strengthened.
Peas were first cultivated 8,000 years ago. They are one of the longest-standing crops cultivated by humans.
Next up is purple radish!
Are radishes a vegetable?: They are one of the most popular vegetables in summer. From a botanical point of view, radishes are a crop that belongs to the cruciferous family.
Where did radishes come from?: The origin of radishes is uncertain. However, it can be said that they were first used in cooking in France.
๐ช๐ฒ ๐๐ฐ๐ต๐บ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ธ๐ ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ฒ๐๐ฐ๐ต๐ฒ๐ป?: Radishes sometimes taste spicy and are similar to radishes. Apart from that, a certain freshness and spiciness can be perceived. The spicy taste comes from the mustard oils they contain.
Are radishes good for salads?: They can be eaten raw or fried as a side dish (they lose some of their spiciness when fried). There are also many recipes for using radish leaves, for example in soups, as chips or for pesto.
Are radishes good for the immune system?: The mustard oils they contain help the immune system resist fungi and viruses. Mustard oils also have a positive effect on gastrointestinal diseases.
Anyone who eats one hundred grams of radishes a day has already covered over seventy percent of their daily requirement of vitamin K.

With this quote, Helena is thinking about exactly what led to the founding of Our Greenery. We already shared our story on Instagram for our anniversary, and here we are again in brief. Daniel and Florian, now CEO and CTO of Our Greenery, were confronted with the food served in the hospital for two years through their sick mother and daily visits. The food provided on site did not seem to them to be an effective contribution to the healing and recovery of the patients. For them it was clear: instead of just eating healthy and delicious food, the opportunity to eat healthily and deliciously must be made more accessible and attractive! At this point, it's great to realize that the connection between green, healthy and biodynamic, the cornerstone of Our Greenery, has reached our community. Not only does the environment benefit from a green diet, but your own well-being and health also benefit from it!
Of course, you don't have to be too strict with yourself, even one vegetarian day a week makes a big difference, but more on that later. Helena sees it the same way and lives by the motto "90% clean eating & 100% good vibes!"
She describes herself as a "health enthusiast and whole grain lover without compromise!". She lives out her motto, among other things, with the help of delicious dishes, which she also shares with her community on Instagram under @eating.cheating. She has been using her table garden since 2022, and since then we have been happy to see how she conjures up delicious recipes with her microgreens. To this day, the table garden supports her in her

How healthy is salad really? A closer look at salad from the supermarket ๐
Anyone who eats a lot of salad should be careful here! Many people are certainly aware that pesticides are used in the cultivation of lettuce, vegetables and even fruit. But today we are going a step further. Apart from the fact that residues of pesticides and indeed heavy metals from the environment can affect salads, the nitrate they contain can potentially trigger
Soil contains nitrate, which plants absorb to obtain energy. However, if the growth conditions are not optimal due to too little sunlight, the nitrate is retained in the plant, especially in the outer leaves and the stem. When a person eats the salad containing nitrate, the bacteria in the mouth produce nitrite. In combination with protein building blocks, nitrates are formed, which could be carcinogenic. In addition, the supply of oxygen to the organs may deteriorate. Particular caution is required with iceberg lettuce, lamb's lettuce and rocket, among others, as the nitrate content here can reach up to
What about pre-cut salads? Are pre-cut salads healthy? In fact, they pose a risk for many infectious diseases such as salmonella, hepatitis A, norovirus and many more. For this reason, according to the NDR, pregnant women are advised to take Among other things, there is a risk of Listerine being contained in the product, which can harm the child or even cause a miscarriage.
Why are ready-made salads susceptible to pathogens?
Because they have already been cut, the plants' natural protective film is damaged. As soon as the lettuce is cut, odors emerge. Germs are virtually attracted by these. In addition, the typical plastic packaging often has a odorless film, which further supports the formation of germs (NDR, 2022).
General tips to avoid these problems include washing, eating immediately after cutting and buying in season.
This information may seem disturbing at first glance, but don't worry! We offer you the opportunity to eliminate all disease-causing germs and pollutants in your home. With both our table garden and our indoor garden you can create your own garden in no time. There is no pressure to use up salads quickly, the current season does not have to be taken into account and you can eat them straight after harvesting. This means there is no risk of leaking cell juices attracting germs. In addition, we do not work with pesticides. All of the damage mentioned above that supposedly healthy foods cause us is simply eliminated. By harvesting the salad yourself shortly before consumption, all nutrients are still present and thus the taste is improved. And don't worry, a green thumb is not required thanks to our simple technology!
Finally, a little tip: Vitamin C can counteract the formation of nitrosamines. So, even if you want to improve things in small steps, you will find what you are looking for with us! In our range you will find many sources of vitamin C, such as parsley, broccoli and garden cress. Come and have a look

Our vision: A world in which everyone eats healthy, nutritious, but also tasty food. In addition, a diet in harmony with nature is important to us - because our diet is a huge lever for achieving our climate goals. Green food can save massive amounts of CO2! Here are a few calculation examples (Exeter, 2022):
- 1 vegetarian day per week (52 days per year) can save almost 100 kg of CO2 per year .
- 1 vegetarian week per month (12 weeks per year) can save almost 153 kg of CO2 per year .
- 1 vegan day per week (52 days per year) can save almost 143 kg of CO2 per year .
- 1 vegan week per month (12 weeks per year) can save almost 231 kg of CO2 per year .
Sounds like an impact, right? We can make a contribution here and, together with you, create a healthy lifestyle through nutrition! But that is only part of the many solutions we need for a healthier and more sustainable world.
